About Me
Professional
I develop software for a living. Well, more specifically, I build teams that develop software for a living. This is an incredibly fun job, and I’m thankful for it every day.
Education
I went to Phillips Academy at Andover for high school. It’s a great school, and I highly recommend it. After high school I went to Pomona College in Claremont, another great school. Since that point I’ve made it my life’s mission to learn from people. If I meet you, and talk to you for more than 5 minutes, I’ve probably learned something from you. I’m insidious!
Personal
I share my life with a truly amazing woman, who happens to be a great cook. She taught me about organic food, what non-CAFO means, who Alice Waters is, and that ‘confit’ is French for delicious. I’m so blessed to have her in my life!
Rugby
I played rugby at a high level for a number of years, which my wife happily tolerated. This is not your drunk old guys in the park kind of rugby (nothing wrong with that, just not my thing). I was a proud member of the Riverside Killer Bees, back when that meant something! Many of our players were previous or future members of the US National team, including Malakai Delai, Nelo Lui, and Tui Osborne. I also had the opportunity to play with the most amazing rugby player I have ever seen live, a freak of nature called Luke Waikawakama.
Making the World Better
These days I’m more involved in non-profits. I list a few of the non-profits I think are truly inspirational on this site. If you’re reading this site using a hig-speed connection on a shiny laptop or fancy mobile gadget, you should take a second to think about how much impact you could make on the world with a donation. Donating doesn’t just mean money. Your passion, your talent, or even just your attention, can mean all the difference to an organization that is working for the greater good.
